Nine held with arms in Sarlahi

SARLAHI, Jan 25: Police arrested nine persons along with arms from two different parts of Sarlahi on Sunday night.

According to the District Police Office (DPO), five persons were nabbed while they were asking Dhirendra Yadav of Manpur- 3 for money at gunpoint. They are Surendra Mahato (19) of Manpur-3, Sunil Kumar Yadav (20) of Shreepur-1, Madhukant Chaudhary (18) of Shreepur-7, Surendra Yadav (19) of Shreepur-4 and Pankaj Kumar Das (18) of Barhathawa-5. A patrol team from the office nabbed them from Harkatawa. One home-made pistol and four rounds of bullet were seized from them.

Similarly, police arrested Nabin Kumar Paswan, Ramji Yadav and Sunil Yadav of Hajariya- 9 and Ram Prabesh Yadav of Sundarpur on the charge of kidnapping a 13-year-old boy and demanding ransom to the family for his release. According to Inspector Lal Babu Yadav, they were caught in possession of two home-made pistols and four rounds of bullet.

However, the police freed the abducted child from Chuhadawa, as he was kept inside a house. It is said security in the district has been tightened following the rising criminal activities for the past few days.
