Lawmaker and chairman of the Chure Bhawar Rastriya Ekata Party, Keshav Prasad Mainali, has said that he has not been expelled from his party.
"There are formal procedures to expel the chairman from any party," Mainali said.
According to the party's general secretary, Bhumi Raj Niraula, 53 central committee members out of 69 Monday decided to expel Mainali from the party for his alleged involvement in horse-trading during the prime ministerial election.
Mainali informed Nepalnews that the recent decision would not hamper his responsibilities in the party since the "expulsion decision" was made by Niraula whose party portfolio was "terminated" earlier.
