Curfew clamped in Sarlahi to suppress demonstrations of sugarcane farmers

The District Administration Office (DAO), Sarlahi has imposed a curfew in Hariwaun area of Sarlahi from 8 am, Monday to suppress the demonstrations planned by sugarcane farmers.

Sarlahi DAO has issued curfew orders from 8 am to 5 pm today in and around Hariwaun after sugarcane farmers announced a bandh from 9 am to 5 pm. Police are escorting vehicles on the east-west highway in Hariwaun area.

Sugarcane farmers began demonstrations demanding a hike in the price of sugarcane. Almost four dozen persons including 40 policemen were injured in the clashed during the demonstrations Sunday.
