Uterine prolapse surgery begins

MALANGAWA: Surgery on uterine prolapse patients began at the Sarlahi District Hospital in Malangawa yesterday. 

With the financial support of the Ministry of Health and Population, health workers of Binayak Hospital and Maternity Home, and Nepal Health Welfare and Research Centre have started providing the service. 

According to the public health nurse of District Health Office, Laxmi Shrestha, after the primary checkup, it has been found that some 315 uterine prolapse cases need surgery. "The surgery is free of cost," she added.

As per the health survey that the health office had conducted, complicated cases of uterine prolapse have been found in some 315 women of 11 VDCs, including Haripur, Parsa, Haripurwa, Babargunj, Sisautiya, Achalgadh, Harkathawa, Dumariya and Madhuwani of the district.
